Must-Visit Golf Courses in Whistler 2025

“I’ve spent most of my life golfing – the rest I’ve just wasted.”
– An Instagram comment
You stare at this quote on your fridge while contemplating why you’re going to work and not up to Whistler to hit the greens. Since you were a kid, your dad and mom instilled in you a healthy love for golf. Now, as an adult, you feel it’s important to carry on the tradition of family golf vacations and have a tingling feeling it’s time to start to plan one for the summer of 2025. However, you’re better and more fun than your parents and add a twist to the planning process.
Before you get started, you make sure to request time off work! And don’t worry, your excuse will be one for the books: ‘It’s for the love of the game.‘ Your boss won’t be able to resist granting your request, and you’ll be free to enjoy family time on the greens.
Cracking your knuckles, it’s time to get serious about planning.

A single sweat droplet runs down your forehead—nothing has ever been more consequential than this moment—the determining factor of your itinerary for the family’s Whistler Golf 2024 getaway is a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Your son, who, by the way, thinks your parents are cooler than you, wants to start the trip golfing at Big Sky (a par 72, 7001-yard course) in Pemberton. His obsession with the course started when he was five, and a black bear wandered onto the course. He is also convinced that by ending the weekend at Nicklaus North, you’ll be more relaxed and willing to buy him merchandise at the store.
“Let’s ball out and enjoy all Whistler offers, tasting luxury. When I win, you have to feed me grapes on the cart.”
– your son
You are entirely against this plan – thinking the trip should start at Nicklaus North Golf Course (a par 71, 6,961-yard course), have a relaxing dinner at Table Nineteen, the best night’s sleep in a one-bedroom loft suite, and then head up to Big Sky the next day. Nicklaus North Golf Course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful Green Lake. Even though you appreciate the golfing experience at the base of Mt. Currie in Big Sky, starting the trip at Nicklaus North makes more sense in terms of time and cost efficiency.

Rock Paper Scissors is the only way to settle this dispute.
Fists at the ready, eye contact locked. You declare it’s the best 2 out of 3, rock, paper, scissors shoot, and no fireball is allowed.
Round 1 – “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” You throw the rock, and he puts down the paper. You lose.
Round 2 – “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” You choose rock again, predictable but calculated. He goes for scissors, and you win.
Round 3—Everything is on the line. You both have laid it all out. Hearts beating, palms sweating, it’s time. “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” You both chose paper, and you flustered him.
Round 4 – “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” You lose. He caught on to your tactics and chose paper while you switched back to rock.

In the corner of the room, you hear your wife’s voice say, “I want to play at Whistler Golf Club; they have 18 holes and are close to the Crystal Lodge.”
You feel defeated and give in to her request, saying, “Okay, sweetie. We will stay in Whistler for four days and visit all the golf courses in the area, including Whistler Golf Club (a par 72, 6,722-yard course) and Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club (a par 72, 6,635-yard course).”
After booking the Sea to Sky Golf Package with a reservation agent at the Crystal Lodge, a month later you find yourself staring at a serene green lake while holding your driver in one hand and feeding your son grapes with the other. You come to realize that maybe there was a reason why your parents never left the golf trip planning up to the children.
You look at your wife and say, “I’ll just call The Crystal 1 800 667 3363 for their advice on the best golf trip itinerary; I’ll trust their local knowledge to plan the best vacation for me so I never have to risk feeding this boy grapes again.”
