Whistler At Easter
Posted on March 15, 2023
Whistler is a popular ski resort in British Columbia, Canada, known for its incredible scenery, diverse terrain, and lively apres-ski scene. During the Easter holiday period, Whistler’s long winter makes it a popular destination for skiers, snowboarders, and other winter sports enthusiasts looking to make the most of fresh powder. The resort offers a wide range of activities for visitors, including live music and village animation. With the slopes open for skiing, restaurants offering world renown cuisine, and unique gift shops Whistler at Easter is a great place to spend your holiday.
Spring Skiing
In the spring, the sun is stronger, and the days are longer, making for great weather on the slopes. The snow is also typically softer and more forgiving, making it easier to ski or snowboard, especially for beginners. The milder temperatures also make it more comfortable to be on the slopes for extended periods of time. March is typically the snowiest month for Whistler Blackcomb allowing for an extended ski season through late April.
Food
Easter is the perfect time to give yourself a sweet treat. Here are our favourite recommendations for unique sweet treats in Whistler:
Rocky Mountain Chocolate
Just a few steps from the Whistler Gondola is the finest handmade chocolate shop, “Rocky Mountain Chocolate,” A big teddy bear sits in front of the store, so it’s super easy to find. There are seasonal products throughout the year, and Bunny-shaped Chocolate statues and Chocolate balls like eggs are famous at Easter.
Portobello
Portobello is located in the Upper Village and offers guests fabulous pastries and mouth-watering treats. Easter is the perfect excuse to indulge in their cake donuts (our favourite is the Boston cream with maple-cured bacon) and signature squares.
Shops
Instead of hunting for eggs, hunting for unique Whistler souvenirs for your family and friends is a great way to explore Whistler Village.
Carlbergs Gift Shop
This family-owned gift store, located across the Village Stroll from the Crystal Lodge, is a must-go souvenir shop to get local and Whistler-featured items. They always display seasonal toys and gifts. Carlbergs also prides itself on supporting local artists with its large selection of local crafts.
NOOK OF THE NORTH
Looking for humorous gifts? Nook of the North is tucked beside Garfunkel’s on the Village Stroll. They always have cheeky gifts which play on the unique outdoor nature of our adventurous winter sports.
