Where to See the Best Christmas Lights in Whistler

Have you ever seen the movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas? Well, during the months leading up to Christmas, the elves of whistler decorate the village with thousands and thousands of lights, transforming the town into our own winter wonderland. In 2017, the Municipality of Whistler strung nearly 5,000 strings of lights or 280,000 lightbulbs over the town.

With over two months of preparation, nearly 300 trees and a whopping 150 wreaths, Whistler is the centre of all things Christmas. The village stroll is the best place to see Christmas lights in Whistler and enjoy all the festive activities.

Here at the Crystal Lodge, in addition to our holiday lights, we put on several activities over the holiday period. From decorating ornaments to stockings, we have it all.

Looking for a different holiday light experience? For the first time, Vallea Lumina will be open over the winter season. Take a multimedia night stroll through the enchanted forest in Whistler. As a new and very popular attraction, we know it will be a hit with the beautiful lights reflecting against the snow, making the holiday season even more magical. New Years in Whistler

How will you ring in the new year in Whistler? Put on by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, there are many ways celebrate as we enter 2020. When you stay with us, just steps in front of the Crystal Lodge you can witnesses the New Year’s Eve fireworks. The fireworks display starts at 8:00 pm and again at midnight. The best spot to view the fireworks is from Skier’s plaza at the base of Whistler Mountain. If you get to the plaza early at 11:30 pm, watch the Fire & Ice ski and snowboard show where talented skiers and snowboarding launch themselves through a burning hoop making it a New Year’s to remember.
