Showh Lake:
Only a 20min drive away, you can take the remote 4-5km Ancient Cedar Trail loop to a quiet fishing spot. If you’re up for the adventure, Showh Lake has a large population of Rainbow Trout to fish. On your way there you will pass through 1000-year-old cedars unlike others in Whistler. This remote lake will allow you to enjoy the day without the crowds. Many people call this place a hidden gem when it comes to fly fishing!
Birkenhead River:
This fly-fishing destination is one of the best. From June to August, you’ll find yourself catching Trout. Beware the bears and pack some bear spray, especially as we move into the fall season. As early as July, you’ll be able to spot Chinook Salmon. In September and through October both the Chinook and Sockeye Salmon are present. This fishing hole is a mere 25min North of Whistler.
Lake Lucille:
Searching for something different? Lake Lucille is one of the few lakes around Whistler that contains a large Brook Trout population. To make it even better, this fishing hole is suitable for both novice and expert fishers.
This is also a popular destination for ice fishing in the winter. If you do choose to take up Trout fishing in the winter here, make sure to check out the ice conditions before heading out! Lake Lucille is only a 25min drive south of the Crystal Lodge & Suites.
