Elements

Another local favorite is Elements located in Whistler Village South.  This small intimate restaurant recently won Best Breakfast Spot in Whistler for 2017 knocking Wild Wood back to second for the first time in 15 years.  Elements has been #2 for years and it was only time before they took the #1 spot with their unique menu.  Both restaurants are owned by the same people which shows you they know how to do breakfast and have great customer service.

Location

Elements is located in Whistler Village North attached to the Summit Lodge Hotel.  Simply walk down Northlands Blvd and turn right onto the second entrance of Main St.  The restaurant will be located on the right hand side next to The Circle.

Price

The price for breakfast is terrific for the quality of food you receive.  The average meal will cost you around $20 which is worth it for the food, environment and service. Check out their menu

Sweet Tooth

Looking for a unique spin on your classic bacon and eggs?  Why not try it in a brioche that will leave you wanting more.  Whistler has a number of bakeries that will impress even your sweetest of tooth’s.  Indulge in some of the best baked goods you can find anywhere or treat yourself to a handmade crepe that is located just steps from the hotel

Purebread

Purebread is a family bakery established right here in Whistler Village only a few short years ago.  They make delicious breads, savouries, cakes, treats, coffee and more.  There are so many amazing items to choose from that it can get a bit overwhelming at first but don’t worry, you can always come back for more!  There are a few breakfast items from a bacon & egg brioche, sour cream and chive scone to muffins, croissants and lots, lots more.

Location

There are two locations in Whistler, one on your way into town if you cant wait in Function Junction or one located just past the Olympic Rings in Whistler Village North.  Turn left past the rings and you will see it on your left, don’t worry if there is a line-up, it moves quite fast.

Price

If you are not looking to spend a lot of breakfast or just don’t have a big appetite this is your place.  You can mix and match until your budget or appetite is full.

Hot Buns Bakery

The Hot Buns Bakery is a cozy cafe located right in the heart of the village, just steps from the Crystal Lodge.  This creperie is what dreams are made of.  They offer a wide variety of breakfast crepes from their selection of savoury, sweet and fruit.  You can mix and match to make a sweet fruit which is out of this world.  There are even healthy options but remember you only live once!

Location

Hot Buns Bakery is located right across the village stroll from the hotel on Sunrise Alley, a 5 second walk to what could be a sweet tooth’s best meal of the day.

Price

The price varies depending on the crepe you purchase but some of the savoury crepes are as big any regular breakfast meal you would find.  They have a crepe big enough for any appetite big or small.

Greasy Spoon

After a big night out there is nothing better than a greasy breakfast to get you back on track for your day.  Satisfy your cravings with a few locals favorite that you have probably never heard of.  Both require you to drive but they are worth the trip.

Southside Diner

Southside Diner could have also made the locals favorite list as this is a hot spot in town for Whistlerites.  The menu is vast and offers up all the basic food groups when hungover or just wanting a hearty breakfast.  It has a real diner feel with great food, it is a must when visiting Whistler so you can get an idea of how the locals live.  Dont forget to read their Rules of the House, if anything, they will make you laugh.

Location

The Southside Diner is located south of Whistler Village.  Head south on Hwy 99 until you reach the Creekside lights.  From there turn right and then immediately on your left is the cafe.  There is parking outside of the restaurant but if it is full, you can always park on the adjacent street.

Price

Like most places mentioned on this list, breakfast will cost you around $20 for a large portion of soul satisfying food.  They also serve a mean Caesar if you are really looking to curb that hangover. Check out their menu

Riverside Cafe

The Riverside Cafe can be classified as a hidden gem with most of its customers being locals because it is a bit off the beaten path.  It is located in the Riverside Resort Campground in the Mons Industrial site and is run by the owner himself.  You wont find any frittatas or avocado on toast here like in most Vancouver restaurants.  Here you will find a Lumberjack Breakfast or a Breakfast Sandwich that tastes the same each and every time you order it because it is run by the same staff year over year.

Location

You will need to drive to the Riverside Cafe but it is only a few minutes from the village itself.  Just head north on Hwy 99, turn right on Spruce Grove Way and then an immediate left onto Mons Rd. It is close to the Scandinave Spa and has ample free parking.

Coffee Lovers

If you are a coffee lover, you know that your day doesn’t start until you have a freshly brewed cup of coffee in your hand.  There are a number of coffee shops just walking distance from the hotel or one located right inside.

Starbucks

As we all know, Starbucks serves some of the best coffee money can buy and it is located right inside the Crystal Lodge.  Stop in and grab a breakfast sandwich, coffee and muffin which will tie you over until lunch.  Breakfast doesn’t have to be plated; it can also come in a cup!

Location

The Crystal Lodge & Suites is the only hotel in Whistler that has a Starbucks located right inside the hotel itself.  Simply head down to the Main Level walk past Basalt Wine + Salumeria and it will be located on your right.

Lift Coffee Company

If you mistakenly ran out of the hotel and forgot to grab your coffee on the way out, the Lift Coffee Company has you covered.  Conveniently located right beside the Whistler gondola line-up, forgetting your coffee couldn’t be easier.  They also have a nice wrap and muffin selection so you can grab and go and be on the lift in no time.

Location

As mentioned above, the Lift Coffee Company has prime real estate for those hustling off to the slopes.  It is located right on the corner attached to the Summit Sports

On the Mountain

Most people that come to Whistler in the winter are here for one thing and one thing only, skiing so it makes it easy when there are breakfast spots located right on the mountain so you can grab your breakfast and still get the fresh snow

Fresh Tracks

This is a great way to not only eat breakfast but beat the crowd on a powder day.  It has been referred to on some powder mornings at the Golden Ticket as only the first 650 people in line get to load the gondola, eat breakfast and get the first tracks on Whistler Mountain.  You will get in around 3 runs before the general public is allowed up making it the best ticket in town and the breakfast is also really good so a win win for everyone.  Fresh Tracks runs from December 15^th to April 1^st, 2018 so this winter, fill your belly while satisfying your inner ski demon.

Location

In order to load, you need to be in the line for the Whistler Gondola early.  They start to upload around 7:15 so you want to be close to the front of the line so that you have time to eat and be the first on the mountain.

Price

The price for a Fresh Tracks ticket is only $22.95 for an adult and $15.50 for a child 7-12.  This price includes your initial upload, breakfast and powder turn memories that on some mornings after a big snowfall, will stick with you for the rest of your life.

Crystal Hut

If you love waffles this is the spot for you.  The Crystal Hut serves up some of the best Belgian waffles that would rival any restaurant anywhere in the world and these are made at 6,000ft above sea level.  These made to order waffles are whipped up right in front of you and served with a healthy portion of berries, maple syrup, whip cream, and chocolate chips to finish it off.  This little slice of heaven can also be ordered at any time of day so when the mountain is open, so is your waffle fix

Location

The Crystal Hut is located at the top of the Crystal Chair on Blackcomb Mountain.  Simply get off the chair and turn right and you will see it there perched on the ledge.

Price

You get what you pay for with these waffles, they are a bit on the expensive side but you are also paying for one of the best views money can buy.
